Email on tax refund a fake

irbMO, 12/8/2017, PETALING JAYA – The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has denied sending any email notification of refunds to taxpayers.

It advised those who received the email not to reply or follow any instructions in the email. The suspicious-looking email, made to look as if it was sent from a certain bank, notified recipients of their eligibility for a “refund” from the IRB.

It also provided a link for taxpayers to click, requesting them to follow the instructions. Taxpayers can contact the Hasil Care Line LHDNM 1-800-88-5436 or any nearby IRB branch for confirmation on any notifications received.
